Jay Z To Sign Sarkodie?

Jay Z’s Roc nation label is in talks to sign Ghana’s Hiplife/Hiphop artiste Sarkodie.

Director of Mobile Strategies at Roc Nation, Briant (Beehigh) Biggs disclosed the label is going country by country and they are in talks with Sarkodie to have him on board.

“We are going country by country. I am already talking to Sarkodie in Ghana to do something with him. I have got something in Gambia, Gabon and Senegal. We have it all spread out. Even in South Africa I am grabbing one artist out there.”

Briant who is tasked with discovering new talents around the world for the label signed a distribution deal with Mavin Record artist Tiwa Savage a month ago and has promised to help build the brand of the Illuminati hit maker using their platform.

After Peter Accused His Brother Of Promoting P-Square Congo Concert Without His Knowledge, Video Pops Up To Prove Otherwise

On Friday Peter Okoye went on social media to say that he wasn’t aware of a PSquare concert set to hold in Congo and he went as far as making threats of taking legal actions against his former manager, Jude Okoye.

A video clip has re-surfaced of both Paul and Peter promoting the concert which was to be sponsored by Airtel. The video was shared exclusively with LIB by the Airtel East Africa team.

While some are using the video to contradict Peter, other argue that the video is from 2013 and could possibly have been for another concert which held at that time as opposed to this new concert in 2016.

Nigerian artistes Wizkid and Yemi Alade did not attend the ‘Best International Act: Africa’ presentation happening right now as the prelude to the main awards night at the BET Awards 2016.

Its is unknown what reason(s) led to their absence.

South African rapper AKA refused to join his fellow nominees on stage after South African DJ Black Coffee won the ‘Best International Act: Africa’ at the 2016 BET Awards.

The ‘Run Jozi’ rapper sat in his chair when Cassper Nyovest, Diamond Platinumz, MzVee and Serge Beynaud joined Coffee on stage.

Nigerians Wizkid and Yemi Alade did not attend the presentation.

Wiyaala Named Among 2016 WOMAD Performers

Ghanaian Afro pop songstress, Wiyaala has been named among some international artists who will be performing at the 2016 edition of WOMAD Festival in the UK in July.

WOMAD (World of Music, Arts and Dance) is an international arts festival, founded in 1980 by English rock musician Peter Gabriel, with Thomas Brooman, Bob Hooton, Mark Kidel, Stephen Pritchard, Martin Elbourne and Jonathan Arthur.

The central aim of WOMAD is to celebrate the world’s many forms of music, arts and dance. This year’s festival is scheduled to take place from July 28 to 31.

Wiyaala will be performing alongside Malian French singer; Inna Modja, French hip hop star; Onra, Ghana’s own Pat Thomas and a host of others.

RTP Televison Channel To Launch Soon!!!

The Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards is about to add another brand to the Awards.

The RTP TV is intended to project and highlight radio and television personalities, media owners, media managers and unseen staff of Media Houses in Ghana and in other African countries.

RTP Awards, rated the Best Organized Event in Ghana in 2015, is also to launch its Foundation and Magazine, RTP FOUNDATION and RTP MAGAZINE, during the launch of RTP TV.

Hot Gossip : LIVE 91.9 FM Partners Viacom For BET Awards

Live FM's Business Manager, Jay Foley has had past romance with Viacom International Networks, which has seen him cover events such as MTV Europe Awards and the BET Awards. 

So now that he has moved to EIB’s urban youth radio station Live FM , it will not be surprising that he attends this month’s BET Awards for Live FM.

According to sources,  EIB Network is partnering  Viacom International Networks for this year’s BET Awards,  with Live FM playing an active role in this year’s Best International Act: Africa award.

A team from the station will leave Accra for the awards which is taking place in the U.S this month.
